Project in Wilhelmshaven progresses

50,000 hours have already been invested this year in the reconstruction of the refinery. For 2017 and 2018, there are other plans for the premises.

Since the beginning of 2015, the erstwhile refinery in Wilhelmshaven is being reconstructed into an impressive storage tank. This year, too, the renovation procedures at the large construction site continued. At the present time, the following work was and will be carried out:

The fire protection system was expanded. To that end, the tanks were developed with two kilometres of piping and an extinguishing water pump station was also set up. In addition, the renovation of six spherical tanks – with a diameter of 24 metres – for the storage of propane gas was also carried out. All the fittings and delivery pumps were inspected and repaired. 1800 metres of piping now lead to the ship and railway loading stations. Improvements and repairs are going on continuously so as to facilitate safe and fast loading and unloading.

At present, various maintenance and repair work is being carried out in the premises – also in preparation for the other pending and queued projects, which are planned for 2017 and 2018.
