A landmark made by Kremsmüller: the new heat accumulators in Ingolstadt
The two towers erected by Kremsmüller are an essential component of the district heating
Kremsmüller is delighted to have created a new landmark in the north of Ingolstadt. It comprises new district heating accumulators, which were constructed for the public utilities of Ingolstadt. The towers pierce the city sky at a height of 25 metres.
The steel colossi are an important instrument for providing the population with basic heating. Due to the pipelines of the district heating network extending over a distance of 70 km, it is very difficult to maintain the heating output at a consistently high level.
This is the reason why the district heating accumulator project was launched. Each of the two tanks holds 1,600 m³ of water at a maximum temperature of 135 degrees Celsius and can therefore supply entire city districts or even the Audi works with district heating. The advantages of district heating are obvious. It conserves resources and does not emit any CO2. With the new accumulators, 70,000 tons of CO2 can be saved per year! Kremsmüller has indeed created a landmark for Ingolstadt here, while at the same time ensuring the heat supply of the Ingolstadt population through its activities.
Local television has produced a TV report on the district heating accumulators. This video can be watched in the slider above.
